For the people who are saying he didn't break his promise go to Youtube, Obama's promise to end war, 2007 - ';You can take that to the bank.'; It is him making a campaign speech.

Why has Obama already beoken his campaign promise to take troops out of Iraq?
he is cutting down the war but if we were to pull out completely guess who'd move in? Iran and this we would not want nor need. An Iran controlled Iraq would be a complete mess and would be a major defeat for our nation. Do not look at this as a campaign lie. Sometimes you have to change plans for the better of the nation
The short answer is he's scared to death to make the wrong move now.
52 Days works out to just about an equal amount of 52 Lies
Can't you just wait until this joker has 52 weeks in office?
He doesn't have a clue what he's doing; he just keeps making promises he knows he'll never be able to keep and then trying to cover his tracks with more lies.
you are wrong again, you hate monger
The ''ear marks'' ''pork '' represents only 2% of the packagte and half of them are republicans
Can;t you support our president instead of telling lies
The troops are leaving now from Iraq, smile and get a life
Nope, you are sadly mistaken, he is actually working at fulfilling exactly what he promised during his campaign...you were apparenty distracted by McCain's suspension and Palin's skirts to have ever heard a word of what Obama was saying.
B.O. will say anything to get elected and now that he's in, he will continue to say things just to get a bump in his popularity. Then do something else. People have figured this out but the ones with blinders still on can't see it.
about 16000 troops are leaving by the end of june. However that is not fast enough withdrawal as he promised. I expect problems in Iraq as soon as troops start leaving which will make a pause to the process.
His promise was to start a plan for gradual withdrawal, not immediate. Promise not broken, sorry.
Well, troops have a time table to be pulled out of Iraq IAW what was agreed upon. How does that amount to breaking a campaign promise?
he hasn't broken his promise, you might be thinking of his sending 17 thousand soldiers to afghanistan.
He hasn't, he already stated a time line for withdrawal. You can't just take them out immediately. It's not that simple.
HE HASN'T
He said repeatedly
we will be as cautious getting out
as BUSH was careless about going in
He hasn't. He always said that he would take them out responsibly. That is exactly what he is doing.
He has already signed an order taking them out, nearly exactly what he said in his campaign. Where have you been?
Among many others...what's new -- politicians don't tell the truth as evidenced by the Omnibus being passed w/ 9000 earmarks in it.

10 year drawback is ';gradual'; as you put it -- 50,000 deep.

There's quite a disparity b/n 18 months and 10 years...

I'll keep that in mind the next time I make a business deal. ';I'll sell you this product within 18 hours if you give me the money'; 10 years later....';can I have it?';

';HE HASN'T He said repeatedly we will be as cautious getting out';
10 Years is pretty damn cautious when compared to the 18 months he campaigned on.
';as BUSH was careless about going in';
What does Bush have to do about promises Obama made?

10 years -- he's not wrong...you might be though?
';The ''ear marks'' ''pork '' represents only 2% of the packagte and half of them are republicans';';
And the other half? Do we have different definitions for earmarks now -- one for demos and one for repubs? Surely I thought when he said no more earmarks he meant no more earmarks.

Misdirection -- I'm thinking about the immediate plans to execute withdrawal and the 18 month figure...

And by ';take them out'; are you referring to the 50,000 that are remaining for at least a decade?
A partial action doesn't constitute keeping a promise when he says ';all troops out of Iraq';.
