Not to state the obvious, but wouldn't it make more sense to base a campaign on issues and not anger?

The election is less than a month away and the economy is the #1 issue on everyone's mind.

Having said that, wouldn't it make more sense to cater a campaign towards why you would do better on (insert issue here) than your opponent instead of resorting to inciting anger and fear?

Thoughts? Not to state the obvious, but wouldn't it make more sense to base a campaign on issues and not anger?
How can Senator McCain possibly address the issue of the economy when most people blame the republicans in the first place? The Bush/Cheney administration has effectively poisoned this election and with the markets now crashing, the ticket is doomed simply for having an R next to his name.

With that in mind his only chance is to try to infest the base with the same poison he carries for Obama and scare enough people to vote against Obama.

The GOP will in turn suffer a severe backlash from their negativity and Obama will win in a landslide. Not to state the obvious, but wouldn't it make more sense to base a campaign on issues and not anger?
This was the way the campaign synopsis was created but due to career politics and the 'good old boys club', this issue idea was scrapped long ago.

I believe the politicians of today have no idea of what needs to be done. They see dollar signs and want them in their pockets.

We live in an era of dirty politics and somehow we must evolve into what we were 50 or 100 years ago.
Trying to get obama to take a stand on anything and not change his mind during the next rally is an impossibility. How do your base a campaign on that? Not the mention the nebulous ';change';, ';hope'; and ';yes we can'; even though we never have.

If that's the issues, you're dreaming!

America First! not last.

McCain/Palin '08
Not when you don't have any positive positions on any of the issues. If I were somebody that didn't have a clue about what to do about the tanking economy, I'd be bringing up my opponents supposed associations with so called terrorists.
My point exactly, Obama is doing just that. Stupid McCain and Palin are about anger and stupidity. Because they are losing, and they know it. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures!

Peace!
Yes. That is one of the reasons why McCain/Palin are losing. But then if they didn't, they would have to talk issues and when it comes to issues, they still lose.
I'm sorry, but we don't allow issues or critical thinking here. Please just continue listening to sound bites. Step away from the unbiased news source, nothing to see here, move along...
I agree with you. most normal people would agree. Doesn't matter what side you're on. But these are the people his anger is focused on to rally.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjxzmaXAg鈥?/a>
Common sense is not common, not with this republicans. They are Mavericks.
You'd hope but anger and hatred work...

Chris I
That never works in this country.........come to think of it, I don't know of any other country either.
