Can anyone give me a few examples of opinion leaders that were involved with the presidential campaign?

I have never kept up with the news and I don't know much about the whole campaign thing. I dont understand what an opinion leader is. I have looked it up online but there arent many examples that explain it in depth. I have a question for school that says to identify some of the opinion leaders in the presidential campaign last year. Do you think they are effective in swaying voters on way or another? Any info will be helpful! Thanks! Can anyone give me a few examples of opinion leaders that were involved with the presidential campaign?
The most popular influential people within their respective parties. Also the talking heads who provide the opinion polls. Can anyone give me a few examples of opinion leaders that were involved with the presidential campaign?
Check out Nancy Grace.

The lady has an opinion on everything.

Like, if she saw someone flip their hair the wrong way she could probably give a 2 hour sermon on how to do it right.

She's annoying.

I'm sure she put more than her 2 cents in on the election.

As for an opinion leader.. I'm not sure what that is so maybe this helps maybe it doesn't.

Just saying, Nancy Grace.

If Palin is willing to mislead people during her campaign what is she capable of if she ends up as president?

It is the most discouraging thing to watch a potential leader spout out half truths on a mission to destroy the other candidate. I am beginning to feel embarrassed about my country and very apathetic about our future. Don't these politions have any integrity at all?If Palin is willing to mislead people during her campaign what is she capable of if she ends up as president?
What is even more appalling are those who support this type of politician. She is despicable. If Palin is willing to mislead people during her campaign what is she capable of if she ends up as president?
You should be asking Obama about his integrity(more like lack there of), all of the half truths and exaggerations he's made about his ';accomplishments'; throughout his political career. He likes to brag about how he was a community organizer in Chicago before becoming elected to the State Senate, but neither Obama himself or any of his supporters can give one example of something that he accomplished while a community organizer. If there is a liar in this campaign, its not Governor Palin.

Hey, you sound like me, all cynical and distrustful. Welcome to the club! It's growing by leaps and bounds each and every day.

Sorry to say, but just about every politician is purposefully misleading. This includes Obama, Biden, McCain, and Palin. They will say whatever has to be said to be elected, and, once in office, sell themselves to the lobbyists and political action committees--whoever shovels the most cash their way. The voters are either neglected or thrown the occasional crumbs. That is, until the next election. Then, it's misinformation time again. Yee-haw!
Are you kidding, that's how she has gotten where she is. That's how this intellectually shallow but personality wise calculating piece of joke always will be. Just read this letter written by one of her home town acquaintances and you will see what I am talking about.

The sad thing for her is, because she is so shallow and small minded, she assumes that every one in the U.S is the same way as she.

Buttercup,

you just convinced me that you have no life and is a pathetic piece of joke, too.

You look at other female governors - Janet Napolotano(AZ), Jodi Rell(CT), Katheleen Sebelius( Kansas), you see true leadership, political intelligence and vision, and most of all, sense of dignity and decency. And you look at this woman Sarah Palin, and you know that we need a BIG CHANGE.
I hate them both and don't trust neither candidate! I've had so much sunshine shoved up my @ss that I'm starting to look like a star! Republicans care only for the rich and Democrats care only for special interests! Why can't we get a candidate who really cares for the elderly and children and workers and people who are trying to run a legitimate business! One who cares about the environment and shows it and is realistic! One who won't expect to strike it rich in the white house! One who can take care of foreign affairs and not make americans look like nit-wits! Please don't tell me you belong to a party! If you do then I'll think your an @ss too! That goes for all party's!
If Obama is willing to mislead people during his campaign what is he capable of if he ends up as president?

Wow....talk about misleadings. Watch Fox channel now and you'll see the truth about Obama's misleadings. Why won't he reveal his

birth certificate? Perhaps he wasn't really born in Hawaii, which

would deem him ineligible to run for President of the U.S. (I think

there will be a lawsuit making him reveal it). If that's a lie, let him

show the certificate putting it to rest. Learn about his association

with ';Acorn';. You'll be hearing more and more about this too.

Columbia and Harvard Universities will not release his school

information. Makes you wonder why? If he was an upright and

outstanding student, they'd be happy to have you know it, I bet.
What about Obama? I mean seriously EVERY person running for ANY position in the goverment misleads people in some light or ARE not able to uphold what they hoped to do.

Not everything is dilberate.

Personally I would like Obama to define exactly what he means by America needs CHANGE. What change is he referring too? Not this crap of lowering taxes and so forth. I mean come on what person running to be presdient hasn't said that?

NOT to mention there is no proof he was even born in the US which makes him not elligable to run for office but then you have all his supporters who say wow he is black, isn't he so handsome and so wonderful he wants change.
I feel sorry for her. McCain dumped his wife to marry a rich woman. Now he is piggybacking on another woman and she only says what he tells her to while he hides behind her. He is just a successful pimp and she is being pimped by him. It's lurid and dirty and she'll have no reputation left after he dumps her when this is over. It's just sad.
Spin has become an integral part of political campaigning.

It is only a minority of voters who recognize that there is a disconnect if they previously support the speaker. It only matters when they are called out on it and have to retract before the election, in some significant situation.

With the VP candidates debate over, she is almost home free.
Well, Palin already thinks that the Constitution gives her wide powers as VP, just like Cheney.

Nobody else thinks that's the case, but she's bound to start causing problems right away.

You're just getting rid of 2 loose cannons now - I don't see why you want to elect another one.
The same thing that every President has done for at least 50 years now.

The system is done, lies are par for the course. They will remain so until the system is reset--which means we either have a Revolution or Jesus or Mohammed (whichever you believe) comes back, whichever comes first.
Obama has been spouting for a long time, he is the one who began the negative campaigning. It is time for the tables to be turned.

It would be nice to know what half truths you are talking about though. I enjoy researching.
Well said. The bubba vote is easily swayed. I'm not sure WHY either they are the scariest ppl in the world and YOU NEVER WOULD WANT THEM TO WATCH YOUR BACK or THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH OF THE SAME DNA IS THEIR POOL.
You see it, I see it, but pablum brained nazis just don't get it. We should move to Canada and let America have their Sarah....

Not.
She is capable of doing anything but hopefully she will never end up as President.
She'll just lie like Bush did, she is already ignoring subpeonas like Bush did
I didn't even think people were paying her any attention. It's sad if people are listening to her.
YOU KNOW, a man will tell a woman ANYTHING to get her into bed.... and then once he's gotten what he wants, he's gone.

kind of the same thing here.
Another Cheney where we have bullet proof evidence of WMD in Iraq.
It gives me nightmares!
the Apocalypse
Oh don't worry, it's ';God's Plan';.

If McBush is elected we are going to be worse off than we are now.
She is a proven liar. We don't need anymore liars in our government.

she caught Biden in a lie like nine times during the debate.
What misleading statements has she made?
They're all like that.
she would be VP but i see what you are getting at

How to write a persuasive piece on why someone should vote for obama, im doing a campaign for college student?

This is worth 300 points and i need too persuade my classmates too vote for obamaHow to write a persuasive piece on why someone should vote for obama, im doing a campaign for college student?
On the most important national security question since the Cold War, Obama is the only candidate who opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning. This judgment was not about speeches, it was about whether or not the United States of America would go to war in Iraq . Because we did, we took our eye off al Qaeda; we have lost thousands of lives and spent hundreds of billions of dollars; our military is overstretched; and our security and standing have been set back. That is why Obama will end the war in Iraq , focus on finishing the job in Afghanistan , renew American diplomacy and rebuild our military, and keep our sacred trust to care for those who serve.

Obama will fight for the middle class as President. He will pass universal health care by the end of his first term, saving the typical family up to $2500 a year. He鈥檚 the only candidate to propose a middle-class tax cut that will provide relief to 95% of working Americans 鈥?$1,000 per working family. He鈥檒l also eliminate income taxes for any senior making less than $50,000.

Obama has a job creation agenda that will create millions of new jobs and do it in a way that鈥檚 fiscally responsible. Obama will stop giving tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas and start giving them to companies that create jobs here at home. He鈥檚 proposed a National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank that will invest $60 billion over ten years, and generate nearly two million new jobs 鈥?many of them in the construction industry that鈥檚 been hard hit by the housing crisis we鈥檙e facing. Obama will also put $150 billion over ten years into establishing a green energy sector that will create up to five million new jobs 鈥?and those are jobs that pay well and can鈥檛 be outsourced.

Obama has been fighting for working families for over two decades. As a community organizer, he helped provide job training for the jobless after the local steel plants closed; as a state Senator, he helped put $100 million in tax breaks into the pockets of working families and brought Democrats and Republicans together to expand health care for 150,000 children and parents. And that鈥檚 how you can trust that he鈥檒l fight for the middle class as President. How to write a persuasive piece on why someone should vote for obama, im doing a campaign for college student?
My focus would be on how an Obama Presidency would force America to have an overdue conversation about race in this country, and that the world would definitely look at us differently if we didn't have another 60-something rich white person running things.
drink the kool-aid

pull the lever

pay your taxes
That would be a hard project to do, especially now that his true self has come to light. Good Luck with that.
why dont you read up on him, jeeessshhhhhh.

this is whats wrong withe people that are voting for him, most know nothing about him.

so why dont you do your own homework so you know who the man is.
You have a really hard job. i guess,If i had that assignment. I would go with a fictional writing or lie a lot. You have nothing reliable and true to use. Go with fiction.
Go to his website. Its beautiful and well written.
wow, i would have chose a diffent point of view. good luck. i can give you 5000 reasons not to. and another 845 billion in the form of the world poverty act sponsored by barak.

  • Obumma is destroying USA's economy by asking for campaign cash multiple times! Is Obumma a patriot or pinhead?

Scandal! Have you noticed how he asks for campaign donations over %26amp; over %26amp; over again? He's trying to make Americans poor. Obumma's trying to destroy the very foundations of the great country of USA by every means. Finally all his tricks are catching up with him %26amp; voters are getting wiser.Obumma is destroying USA's economy by asking for campaign cash multiple times! Is Obumma a patriot or pinhead?
What a silly question this is. You honestly cannot be serious. Last I checked isn't McCain trying to get money for his campaign too? What the heck is the difference? Your candidate and the rep. party is and has made a lot of us poor. Gimme a break!Obumma is destroying USA's economy by asking for campaign cash multiple times! Is Obumma a patriot or pinhead?
Patriot is an insult and by calling him a pinhead, you are being too kind. The man is nothing more than a flip-flop you buy at Walmart and that is being generous
I can't say without a doubt he's a 100 percent pinhead because there are some views he has that are debatable and without question, however I wouldn't go so far to label him a patriot either. 50-50...
You're an idiot. Donations are voluntary - meaning that you send him money because you wanted to, not because he wants to bankrupt you.
WOW so you are saying MOST of America is FOR Obama

they would have to be in order for him to ruin the economy like that-LOL
What are you talking about? Donations are voluntary expenditures.
    Well, this one's easy--he's a pinhead
So does every other candidate. What planet do you live on? And no, it doesn't damage the economy.
    how old are you ? 12 or 13 ?

What kind of campaign would it take to make you want to buy a Halmark greeting card?

I make all of my greeting cards at CropMom at http://www.cropmom.com because I like to use my own photos in greeting cards, add my own text and use CropMom's graphics. Then I buy the print-quality JPEG file of my card and print it at home or have it printed at Snapfish or Shutterfly. So unless Hallmark buys CropMom, no campaign is going to make me want to buy a Hallmark greeting card. What kind of campaign would it take to make you want to buy a Halmark greeting card?
personally i buy cards for reasons : birthdays, christmas, etc, and not because an advert or a campaign tells me to. I dont care where i get the card from,

Do you think that we can compare the Clinton campaign in Texas to the battle of The Alamo?

Yes. It can also be compared to the Battle at Waterloo right before Napoleon's defeat.Do you think that we can compare the Clinton campaign in Texas to the battle of The Alamo?
More like the Texas Chainsaw massacre.....!Do you think that we can compare the Clinton campaign in Texas to the battle of The Alamo?
Yes you ca. Hillary is defending the Alamo from the Obama hoards bent on taking over Texas and the United States.
No, but it would be interesting if someone brought a gun to their battle.
Maybe she should make her final campaign stop on March 4 within sight of the Alamo
No... the Texans lost at the Alamo and they regrouped at San Jacinto. Hillary has lost more delegates than she can recoup... the Alamo was not a miracle, it was a massacre.

If she is likening her Texas campaign to the Alamo then she should read a history book... unless she is saying that she is on Mexico's side (and I doubt she meant that).
    yes,

    thats a very good analogy
Yes, because once again, the mexicans will defeat her.
If you mean the part where they all die then yes.

I prefer to think of it more like....a bunch of cute little butterflies picking their ambassador of love...and then this big McCain bird comes along and rips their wings off and makes them eat their own excrement. A sign perhaps of what I have in mind in our wonderful American future!

Why is it OK for Hillary to play the race card and gender card throughout her campaign?

Why doesn't she get raked over the coals like Obama gets raked over them even when he is not the orator of the statements? Why is it OK for Hillary to play the race card and gender card throughout her campaign?
This race/gender card thing has gotten old. We republicans are just going to our ';ACE'; and play the Hero Card, it trumps all others. Why is it OK for Hillary to play the race card and gender card throughout her campaign?
Hillary knows if she can just get into office she can do the job much better than what McCain will do to the working people %26amp; she is grabbing for everything she can hoping something works. I think Obama is not as fearful as Hillary %26amp; lets alot of stuff just slide. I saw something that showed the picture of the day he was not putting his hand over his heart %26amp; it told what was really going on %26amp; the National Anthem was playing they weren't saying the pledge %26amp; their are many pictures of him with his hand over his heart. So people are going to bully him cause he ignores them. He understand energy. The more we put energy in something the better whether it is good or bad comments he knows it is all good for his changes.
She totally is.. Barak cant even say the word black because people will immediately accuse him of pulling the race card. The media is doing so also by constantly bringing up the black vote like in his NC victory. I guess if Hillary wins in Virginia that is because of the white vote?
C'mon Chi... In fairness to Hillary, she has been raked over the coals many times before Super Tuesday on many issues including race. I don't know why you even bother posting questions on her when you and I both know that she is not going to win the nomination. Obama is already in GE mode now.
I have to tell you. If I hear ';misogyny'; one more time Im going to go mental.

What dont Hillary supporters get about the fact that some people strongly disagree with her politics? It has nothing to do with her gender. Crying wolf like that is only making it worse for the next female candidate. Why dont they get that?
She knows she is just another status quo politician and has nothing else, but the same old same old to offer, so she resorts to these tactics. She'll do less smearing though as it's becoming obvious that she's only shooting herself in the foot if she remains in a dirty game.
She has not said what Obama has said about his allegiance. What race card has she played that Obama hasn't already played.
Because she'll hit you with her purse.

Does anyone else think that Hillary will continue her campaign straight through to the convention?

Tonights put a damper on the excitement on her ';turning the tides'; or ';gaining momentum';.

However I still think that these primary results are definitive enough to derail her campaign's arguement to the superdelegates that she is still more electable.

With a few states left and the MI %26amp; FL situation, I don't think Hillary will stop campaigning.

~Obama supporterDoes anyone else think that Hillary will continue her campaign straight through to the convention?
No... I think she'll finish up the rest of the Primaries- and conceed to Obama come the middle of June. She doesn't want to drag this out all the way to the Convention. She's a ';healer'; -%26amp; she'll want to start bringing her Party together so she can help it beat McCain in November...Does anyone else think that Hillary will continue her campaign straight through to the convention?
I think that she is obilerated.

They are still counting the votes, well at least we know

Hillary is capute, done, finished, finalized, out to pasture, Elvis left the building, shows over, fat lady is singing..Glad you got your last call for alchol too don't forget to clean up your idiotic vomit you left trying to beat your Obama hang-over...

Good Bye Hillary and take your ';Sniper'; memoirs with you..

To all Hillary supporters the ';SNIPER DELEGATES'; would like you to step aside, so they can put down your PIGEON..

She lost at the toss underestimating Obama, that alone should tell you that she takes things for granted. NOT A LEADERSHIP QUALITY I WANT TO SEE FOR 4 MORE YEARS...

    Obama 08
    I dont think so. I think Dean and the SDs are going to force her to exit. As Pat Buchanan said, ';When Hillary place a phone call to ask for money, the call will not be answered.';

Watch how fast the superdelegates run away from her.
no she won't but don't worry. As long as she doesn't through any more mud, this work into Obama plans to win the General Election.

It is the perfect storm brewing.

    Change is Coming.

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=鈥?/a>
It best for the democratic party if she bows out now. Even if she wins the small states left she's still behind and I doubt the super delegates are going to deny Obama.
Hillary won't win even Tom Hanks is voting for Obama and encouraging people to vote for Obama.

    Look at video
I dont think she will back down. She is going to go all the way, however I think they are dividing the democratic party too much and it could be close in November.... I hope Obama clenches it though!
Hillary is a fighter she does not give up .
I think she may quit after tonight. She doesn't have the money to keep campaigning. She's already used millions of her own money to keep going.
She'll go to the bitter end and if she doesn't get what she wants she'll pull an Al Gore and protest claiming victory in the wake of defeat.
She said that tonight was going to be a game changer....

She must be playing a different game...
She will be forced to, but a deal will be made, and she will be VP
Not if she wants to salvage her political career.
I think she might try hope not its only getting embarrassing for her to continue but she is used to shame
Yes, and she will take it on through the General Elections, because she is that kind of evil person.
She can still get the nomination. There are enough states left to vote. Go Hillary!
Yes she will. Go Hillary. It is not over till it is over.
    i think clinton will continue
Heck yeh, this woman has been through it and she will not give up! You go Hillary!
Yes because Obamas got a real problem : he's become one-trick pony
no, they will carry her off in a straight jacket any day now.
i hope so, cuz it aint over till its over!and im tired of all the obama drama!
If she loses tonight, that might not be likely..
yes she will and she ought to.
yes she will because she is stubborn.
    Hell Yeah
    I certainly hope so......
    she will wake up

Will the recent Palin verdict that she abused power and violated state ethics laws affect the campaign?

I need to know if she is a prophet or a politician before casting my vote in a few weeks. Will the recent Palin verdict that she abused power and violated state ethics laws affect the campaign?
As with the issues, policies, and reality, her Republican fan club will simply ignore this or pass it off as ';unimportant'; or ';political,'; and expect people to simply accept it.

I find the hypocrisy of the situation rather entertaining. Had this come out about Biden it would have been all the Republicans would be talking about.

This is a real issue that you should consider when deciding who to vote for. The leader of the free world should consider the needs of his or her country first, not a personal agenda or some vendetta.

The other answerers are right in that it is not a legal verdict. However, it is a detailed finding after an extensive investigation.

And also, I believe this issue was being looked into before her nomination for VP. So that argument doesn't work. Will the recent Palin verdict that she abused power and violated state ethics laws affect the campaign?
Not really. If you love her, your will note that no criminal charges are being filed (not yet anyway - I would not do it until after the elections if they are even considered). If you don't like her, you will note that she was found to have abused her power and violated Alaska State ethics. Maybe a few of the independents left undecided by this information will be swayed, but I think how a lot of the undecided (and even some ';decide'; democratic voters) actually vote is more a function of Obama's race. If he were white and the vote was only about issues and character, Obama would win by a land slide. The GOP is putting the fear/smear to work whispering he is Muslim, un-American, white-hating bigot out there because they have no strong issues. They actualy did this to McCain in SC before to support bBush (said McCain had an illegitamate blck child when it was an adopted child of Asian descent). The GOP (McCain was feeding intro it until his poll numbers dropped even more) wants to put out a ';misperception'; people who don't want to vote for a highly intelligent, hard working, mainstream black man can hide behind. An excuse. Obama is Christian, an American citizen, well-educated at Harvard, was 8 years old when the person he knew as a college professor committed acts of terror (an 8 yr old knows nothing of the Weather underground, people don't do background checks on college professors, board members and such - McCain even missed Palins stupid antics with trooper-gate';).

Having said that, I like McCain and could have voted for him before he slated to the extreme right instead of embracing a moderate agenda and brought Palin is who is clearly only qualified (by both education and experience) to bring him coffee in the morning. If he dies (much more likely than Obama), the country would be screwed with her in charge. I Obama dies, Biden can handle things just fine. I would vote for Obama BECAUSE he brought in a highly unqualified VP. If this were not the case, why hide her and say no interviews (whoops, looks bad we will give you 2 interviews)?

Obama should definitely consider McCain for Secretary of Defense if he wins. He would be great and would really fight for the troops. I'm sure McCain will always give Obama his honest opinion (whether he wants it or not!) and this would signal that Obama wants a bipartisan approach to governing.
She was not a defendant in a trial in court. Therefore there was no ';verdict.'; Some left wing liberal loonies in the state legislature offered an opinion. I think the trooper should have been fired.
She is alleged to have committed an ethics violation. There has not been a trial to render a conviction, And no verdict has been handed down.
Palin put herself on the edge of an ethics law but from what I heard she actually broke no law.I see it as a political deal from her detractors.Believe me those folk would be pressing charges if they thought they could.
There has been no verdict. Scary to think that the fate of this country may lie in the votes of the misinformed.

  • Is changing the rules the best Hillary Clinton's Campaign can come up with?

The voters didn't buy her message. The negative ads actually hurt her. But she won Nevada with a last minute lawsuit that kept thousands of casino workers from voting.

Now she wants to change the rules in Michigan, Florida, Texas and the way superdelegates are counted.

Is changing the rules the best Hillary Clinton's Campaign can come up with?

The voters didn't buy her message. The negative ads actually hurt her. But she won Nevada with a last minute lawsuit that kept thousands of casino workers from voting.

Now she wants to change the rules in Michigan, Florida, Texas and the way superdelegates are counted.

Is this all she has to offer? Is changing the rules the best Hillary Clinton's Campaign can come up with?
When you have a defective candidate you make do with what you have and do the best you can.

EDIT: Nick you should share that information with BJ just in case someday he gets drunk and forgets who she is and tries to rape her.Is changing the rules the best Hillary Clinton's Campaign can come up with?
Absolutely.. Hilary Clinton only wants to ANSWER WHAT SHE THINKS IS ADVANTAGEOUS TO HER .. WHICH IS

    YOU ARE RITE ON.
    You ain't seen nothin yet.
She has no chance of winning playing fair, so what did you expect - the current cast of candidates really stinks - anyone agree?
Are you kidding me? All Obama talks about is change and when asked about how he plans on changing he cannot come up with ONE explanation...just a lot of talk and no plan. At least Clinton has a plan.
Did you know that Hillary Clinton has 16 rows of teeth much like a shark? they are located in her vagina just past the labia minora. always be sure to keep your distance as any wrong move can easily become your last.

Why has Hillary been noticeably absent in the Obama campaign?

Is there something up her sleeve to dethrone the presumptive nominee? Why has Hillary been noticeably absent in the Obama campaign?
I think she is trying very hard not to be a hypocrite... she does not want to be seen with him.. why should she? She did what the party wanted and endorsed him.. that should be enough... She knows by now that her supporters are not going to blindly vote for him just because she is forced to promote him.. we are smarter than that....I am an independent now.. and I still will never vote for him.. not even if he puts her on the ticket. I do not trust this man.. he uses people.. and he is a liar... not for me.

PLEASE, PLEASE EVERYBODY.. WATCH THE VIDEO ABOUT HIS PASSPORT... YOU GOTTA WONDER?Why has Hillary been noticeably absent in the Obama campaign?
I think it is simply because she fulfilled her end of the bargain as far as stating her support of Obama's campaign. She was obviously forced to do so to save her political career, but its equally obvious that her heart wasn't (isn't) in it.

However, it is also possible that she does know something about the infamous rumoured ';October Surprise'; - time will tell.
Maybe Obama told her to take a hike. Quite a few Americans are put off by Hillary because she comes over (let's face it, she is) domineering and bossy. Also, the Clintons always have some ulterior motive. They are probably fishing around in their bag of tricks as we speak to see what to do next.
Yes...I think you may be on to something, honestly...

I believe the 'October Surprise' will be none other than Hillary herself in September at the DNC. I believe Obama's birth certificate will be proven a fraud (which it is) and he will have no way of pretending he is American, since he will not be able to produce a legitimate birth certificate. It will happen - trust me!!!

or, if you like to 'rock out':

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd5gm8XKv鈥?/a>

there is something amiss here...and I'm not the only one who thinks so!!!
There is nothing Hillary can do to change things, she can only hope there's a skeleton left in Obama's closet that can knock him out. Any actions she takes which undermines the Dem party nominee only hurts her worse and she knows it.
IT MUST BE VERY DISHEARTENING TO LOSE AN NOMINATION TO A POLITICAL NOVICE. THE CLINTONS HAVE TO GET OVER THEIR EGO PROBLEMS IF THE DEMOCRATS ARE TO WIN. FURTHER CONFUSION IN THEIR RANKS IS NOT GOOD. THAT IS ESPECIALLY SINCE THE DEMOCRAT CONGRESS HAS FURTHERED THE REPUBLICAN AGENDA. KARL ROVE COULDN'T HAVE PAINTED A BETTER SCENARIO.
From what I understand her presence isn't congenial to the idea of ';change';.

Good for him anyway. I like Hillary, but it's nice to see him doing in all on his own and winning, despite the haters out there.
He's too busy feeding his ego abroad.

But who knows what will happen during the month that's left before the start of the Dem convention. I surely hope that the Clintons will outsmart the leftist faction of the DNC.
She's distancing herself, that's for sure. Her and Bill both, gotta love those Clintons,(clever bunch) The DNC is getting extra security because of those crazy Hillary Supporters!!!!
She has been noticeably absent from the Obama campaign because it is the Obama campaign and not the Clinton campaign.
She hates him. He stole her thunder, her entitlement to the White House. it's much better that she is not on his campaign scene. It would be too hypocritical.
She knows a loser when she sees one. I suspect she and Bill will campaign for him as little as possible, and neither will vote for him.
I hope she is up to something that would split the Democrat vote.
She just can not believe she lost to HIM!
One loss is enough for Hill, she can't stand being apart of yet another one!
regrouping to better screw things up in a few months... evil b
Seems to me Obama is doing fine without either Clinton to be honest. No Offense to you Females that want a Female President, but Hillary wasnt your best choice at that anyways.
That is exactly how she is helping.

The farther away both her and Bill stay the better they make the party look.

  • Will Biden remember his running mates name during this campaign?

    Barrack America?! Barack Abaumama.....?!

Is it worse to not remember the name of your Presidential running mate or the number of homes your wife owns? Will Biden remember his running mates name during this campaign?
But O Bamba was clean enough for him now to hug him. He can overcome, can't he. What a great team to lose. An empty suit and a barking sheep. Will Biden remember his running mates name during this campaign?
    Yes he will.

Well, when a person TRIES to portray himself like a ';regular joe'; like john mccain does, it's far worse to forget the number of homes that you own because it shows that you are either a liar, senile as hell or just an out-of-touch elitist as your opponents claim.

Why don't you take the time that you spend posting this slander and do something productive?

What does the Red Elite mean in Halo 3 campaign?

I thought the red elite in Halo 3 campaign meant you had the worst connection in the party. Am I right? What does the Red Elite mean in Halo 3 campaign?
Contrary to what the others have said, Master chief is NOT always host... nor is he always party leader. I have no idea how it is chosen.

Likewise, being the red elite does not mean, necessarily, that you have the worst connection.

On a related note, the only way to actually tell who is host, thus being deemed the player with the BEST connection, is to hit the start button. Only the host will have the ';Revert to Last Checkpoint'; option. (You'll notice that this is not always Master Chief.)What does the Red Elite mean in Halo 3 campaign?
no it just means that you are the 4th player, Master chief is host (not to be confused with party leader) Arbiter is 2nd player, and Blue Elite is third.
the red elite is the fourth player so just like the other guy said the fourth elite has different armor though and he doesnt do anyin special

Is the McCain Campaign once again being Childish and dismisive of all the people that fought and died ?

This is far more than just about Obama, this country has not gotten to this point easily, people of all races struggled through sometimes violent opposition to help this nation get closer to a nation excepting of all Americans not just the few. Childish Mocking is disrespectful, and dishonorable. Is the McCain Campaign once again being Childish and dismisive of all the people that fought and died ?
I think in their minds, the troops whether they lived, or died were doing their job and if they died, they died for preserving freedom in this country. They see them as hero's who partiotically seved their country.

I too, see them as heros's, but were sent to war only to preserve oil for this country and to get Saddam in retaliation for him trying to assasinate Bush 1. You can't shove democrasy down the throats of people who have never had it and have asked us to leave it. These tribal wars have been going on for decades and as soon as we do leave, it will be business as usual. The only reason the violence went down during the surge is because we paid the insurgents to work with us.

Bush knew there were no WMD and also knew they were not a threat to this country. He lied and manipulated the people of this country and Congress into believing we had to go to Iraq.

I have no doubt he had no intention of finding Bin Laden. By turning his back on Afghanistan and allowing Bin Laden to remain free, he had his ammunition for scare tactics and his ridiculous color coded terrorists alerts to keep us thinking we were in danger.

The entire Bush administration are criminals and shouldn't be allowed to walk away scott free after what they've done to the people of this country and how in reality have only made us more hated and have put us in more danger of future attacks, as well as Europe and all western countries.

I've heard after we have a Democratic President and a real majority in Congress, that there will be hearings on their criminal activities. I only want to them arrested, tried and convicted and have their lives taken away from them as they have taken away ours.

McCain will only give us more war and new conflicts, as war is all he knows, will continue the hatred the world feels for this country. If he wins, the U.S. loses as does the rest of the world. Is the McCain Campaign once again being Childish and dismisive of all the people that fought and died ?
    SOURCE! Where's your source?

This isn't a question, is it? Most Dems are against the military, talk about being disrespectful of those that FOUGHT AND DIED to make this country great. How about Obama plastering his icon over the flag? Talk about disrespect!
It has come to be what I expect from the Republicans. It makes me sad. I had hoped John McCain would take the high road. I HAD a lot of respect for him. He has lost all of that by playing the Carl Rove playbook.
What the hell are you spouting off about? Makes absolutely no sense. Dismissive of all the people that fought and died? Give me a break.

That is probably one of the stupidist comments made recently!!!!!
McCain campaign has no substance. I feel bad for the poor old guy. He is going to suffer a lot till Nov 4th, then he will disappear in to obscurity.
Remember; when you point the finger at one person, you've got three pointing back at your self. That's what the Obama people fail to grasp!
And putting up a greek god temple for attention isn't childish how?

    McCain/Romney 08!
    You lost me completely.

Does the McCain campaign need to get moving at publicity and quit complaining about Obama's press?

A good campaign garners news coverage.

Do they expect the same coverage for another half-filled grassroots meeting as a Middle East tour of Heads of State?Does the McCain campaign need to get moving at publicity and quit complaining about Obama's press?
He just had slow talk express campaign stop in my area and they got little over 400 in venue that held few thousand. They did poor job advertising it, and he didn't talk with reports at airport. Possibly because the creative reporting CBS did yesterday may have come up. Enjoyed watching first few he held. They got more stale than tube of lard on radio. Had hard time finding Obama in Israel today, and wonder why one network devoted most of day to Dolly.Does the McCain campaign need to get moving at publicity and quit complaining about Obama's press?
If they were smart. Nobody likes whiners.

What does the fact that 7 of McCain's Top Campaign Advisers are Washington Lobbyist mean to you?

To real Americans it means more of the McSame!

    2 million homes in foreclosure?

    Jobs running overseas?

Health care being cut more and more?

America is feeling the McPain of the economy ?

    America we need change!!!

    Republican for Obama!!!

Maybe then we will stop going to war for oil companies? What does the fact that 7 of McCain's Top Campaign Advisers are Washington Lobbyist mean to you?
That it PROVES McCain is not a man of his word and that he is not going to ';reform'; Washington. He claims that he will end special interests and lobbying, but that does not make sense considering 7 of his advisers are lobbyists. It also proves that McCain thinks very little of the intelligence of Americans. He thinks these things will not be put out there by the media and that we will not pay attention to them. I can't believe that he is still running the ad that says Palin stopped the bridge to nowhere. That has already been proven to be a lie. It's all about how he really thinks of Americans, and the truth is that he thinks we are not too bright. Well, we Americans are going to show him our intelligence in November by electing Barack Hussein Obama as our next President of the United States of America! What does the fact that 7 of McCain's Top Campaign Advisers are Washington Lobbyist mean to you?
Means he was smart enough to employ people that understand the

system, People that know what it takes to win an election, Unlike

Obama who hide there lobbyist, and if you ever wanted to pick that

rock up and look under it, There are over 100 Lobbyist directly related

to the Obama campaign, But then you probably knew that,
MacSAME has a campaign FULL OF LOBBIESTS and people ON THE TAKE from the MAJOR OIL COMPANIES..

Why do you think MacSAME would want to drill IN PROTECTED AREAS in the gulf rather than in the 64 MILLION ACRES that are ALREADY OPEN FOR DRILLING.

Typical of the Republicans... they tell HALF TRUTHS knowing the typical AmeriKan is so gullible and stupid they will believe the lies.
Depends on which politican party you support.

Republicans will blow it off as no big deal.

Democrats will make a big stink about it.

Personally, I think both parties are full of cheaters, liars and hypocrites..
    Nothing.

Well, nothing other than it exposes you as another slender reed that blows in whichever direction the Obama camp tells you to blow.
It means that their personal agendas come first before the country's.

It means that he will continue Bush's policy of allowing big business to controll his decisions.
    McSame, McSame, McSame
That McCain is just like Bush and there will be NO CHANGE if he is elected. The lobbyists will continue to run America.
it means business as usual if mc cain is elected.
It means to me that more of the same from him in Washington.....
It means that McCain is not change, it's more of the same!
Nothing, does it mean anything to you that the majority of Obama's donations are coming from the same internet cafes from the middle east.
Nothing unless Biden's son being a lobbyist concerns you.

He appears to be hurt and upset that black people are voting more for Obama than Hillary.

They thought they had the black vote no matter what, and honestly, I do not think he realized that he could be questioned and come under attack like he has been.

Maybe he thought since he was so popular, it would be a cakewalk? How is former President Bill Clinton handling matters on the campaign trail?
Well i think and this is my theory, Bill doesnt want Hillary to be President, if not consciously sub-consciously. I think it hurts his ego. Why else would a shrewd poltician(he got the title slick willie didnt he?) make many imprudent remarks?
He's turning people off!! Yes he has forgotten about the support he received.
He's messing up the works for Hillary.
I'm sure he's still getting BJ's at every opportunity!

Why is everyone using the race card with this Obama campaign?

The man has awful policies(if you can find some real fleshy policies among his phony facade somewhere.) It's not about race people! Why is everyone using the race card with this Obama campaign?
Actually, the people who most often bring up race on YA are Obama supporters who immediately flock to any question about Obama, and start accusing all who oppose him as ';racist';. Faced with documentation of his atrocious voting records, his under-the-table dealings with other governments (Canada) and militant and terrorist factions (FARC and the New Black Panthers), and his arrogant, pompous bravado in saying he WOULD attack northern Pakistan that angered the Pakistan government (then lied about what he said at a AFL-CIO primary), his supporters have no other defense rather than to cry ';racist';.

Obama, himself, has made race a big issue by the books he has written, by the people he looks to for advice and guidance (Wright and Farrakhan), the disdain he exhibits to middle class, rural, ';white'; America. Oh, and that is another phrase Obama has used: ';white America';. I say that his most recent ';poorly worded'; (his words again) statement was directed to caucasians because, in his big long speech about Rev. Wright, he made a big deal about how important church and religion were to the black population. He couldn't now be chiding that same black population for ';clinging'; to their religion, could he? Or is religion only important to urban blacks; not to RURAL blacks, who apparently only ';cling'; to religion because they are bitter? Obama actually started out with the race card by identifying himself as the son of a poor freedom worker goat herder in Kenya, just to forge an inroad with the black voters of America, since he is, after all, bi-racial, not ';black';. He certainly never told them that part of his family history included owning slaves, did he? http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nationw鈥?/a>

When it comes right down to it, it is not a story of race, at all. It is a story of Obama USING race to create division, not unity. Why is everyone using the race card with this Obama campaign?
Because I know of several people who won't vote for Obama because of his race. As much as you typical people want to down play it, it is true and don't get upset because his supporters realize it. He actually has a lot of good policies, and if you people were really looking at them you wouldn't have the audacity to try to use that against him. You rather not find out what he stands for so that you can proudly speak against him. I'd actually have more respect for the person that says they won't vote for him because of his race rather than the one that uses Wright, policies and inexperience for their excuses. Its actually quite sad, and I often wonder if those christian people really think heaven will be split.
Because it is another pivot from addressing %26amp; or solving the issue. An attempt to dumb down the non-racist which is in fact Obama %26amp; Rev. Wright, the real racist are the people who were not effected by slavery. That is what is true, therefore passing down the systemic notion that the minority %26amp; not the majority is racial which is a lye. Black people never have never will put up ';BLACK ONLY'; signs remember that. Obama %26amp; his people are not that kind of bunch, they are classy, accepting, humanitary...

Kinda like what the Republicans are doing with the ';War on Terror'; or Muslim or Middle Eastern people. However, what is different is that Republicans/George W./McCain will kill their own people for a buck.

    'Obama 08'
The media has fed the public with only what sells news and nothing sells better than this primary

Rating are going through the roof and the rumour mills are in full force

The spin doctors are having a field day

Race has been brought into picture because for the second time in American politics there is a true contender of different colour running for the office

Some people are coming out of the woodwork to protest this very fact as you can see by answers here. Prejudices are being shown and coming to fore front.....from all sides

America is extremely prejudice and this campaign is truly showing its true colour....like it or not

So.....used as politics ploy game and tired of it from all sides

time to get on with choosing the right candidate for November
I think it has to do with the fact that Obama continually associates with racist people. Also the fact that in recent days Obama insulted everyone for believes in religion or owns a gun. He is his worst enemy.

As long as he makes race an issue with his dislike of white people and poor people, the press will bring it up.
Because he showed how much of a racist he is when he stands behind his racist 'pastor' and STILL attends that church today. He lied saying he didn't know about the comments his 'pastor' made, but then changed his story. Yeah, he preaches about 'change', but that pertains to his changing stories - NOT 'change' as in the country!

His recent derogatory comment about rural whites being anti-immigrant, etc. shows that he continues to play the race card in this election.
the race card is all he has and is banking on that to get him elected, but it's not going to work as although he's a clever and smooth talker it seems the more he opens his mouth the more trouble he gets into//// and lately hiding behind closed doors so he can say what he really is thinking is bringing him down... lets face it he is nothing more than a phony politician with little experience and knowledge and an individual this country doesn't need as it's president, just look at the situation the last likable idiot we voted in has us in today, This country needs an experienced leader and soon and it's not that clown////
The fact that there are bigots our there who won't vote for obama because of his race is more than offset by the number of people who vote for him just because he's black. He's pulling 8-9 ouf of 10 AA votes in some of these contests? C'mon now. That's to say nothing of the guilt-laden white people as well.
    Obama made this about race. None of this crap started until people found out about his ';spiritual leader';
They're following his lead, since he keeps bringing it up everywhere he goes.
that's what he has been saying all along.
I actually find his policies to be quite good - both home and international. I think there are a lot people who are afraid of a half white/half black man winning the nomination. In that case, I quantitatively think many people will vote color vs. policy.

Have the conservatives added Chelsea Clinton to their mud-slinging campaign strategy?

They should be careful because I suspect that this young lady is going to be a very prominent person in future politics. In exercising her right to free speech, she was a mite harsh in her response to a question about her parent's work, regarding an exposed marital problem. I think it caught her off-guard, and we all, at times, wish we had re-phrased something! I do admire her inherited intellect, and otherwise, she has been very respectful to everyone. But, even so, I like Obama better.Have the conservatives added Chelsea Clinton to their mud-slinging campaign strategy?
The whole situation is really tacky. She's working for her mother's campaign, and should be asked tough questions regarding Hillary Clinton's public career. But no one should EVER have to answer questions about their parents' sex lives. And the press just keeps on asking.Have the conservatives added Chelsea Clinton to their mud-slinging campaign strategy?
If you didn't notice, she threw the first stones at Republicans. She basically opened herself up to being shown that she is hypocrite. No one would have said anything about her involvement with the banking mess if she was not throwing mud.
    No.

Those were Obama Supporters, little girl.

    Didn't you watch the news?

They were right to ask the questions.

She was wrong, and still Ugly.

Even after all her plastic surgery.
In case you do not know it, Chelsea is 30 years old, and is stumping for her Mother. She has entered the political ring, and can not feel that she is immune from hard questions from both sides of the isle. By the way, the first question about her Mothers reaction about her Father's favorite sport was from a Democrat, not a Republican!
If she can't stand the heat, she should get out of the kitchen. She's playing with the big boys now.
Maybe. They still hate Obama more. I support Hillary, but I don't understand why people are making deal out of this. Asking about the Monica Lewinsky case is NOT appropriate for this campaign, AT ALL! Nothing to do with the running for the White House.
She should have stay out of the picture = more respect from real Liberals

Supporting her mom = losing the respect of many liberals who wanted to CHANGE the corruptions in the US government = her mom
Sorry to break your bubble, but the very first guy that asked Chelsea about the Clinton-Lewinsky affair was a Democrat. The guy was interview on TV and he admitted he is Democrat. So you can see Conservatives are not the only ones.......!!!
The sad truth is that people like Ann Coulter and her counterparts know no boundaries, therefore if Hillary is the nominee, Chelsea will be subjected to a great deal of mud slinging.
What have the ';conservatives'; said? Do tell.

I think once you stick your neck out into the arena of politics your fair game! She is more of a mud collector, than a target I suspect. But I didn't realive the conservitive ';right wing conspiracy'; group had gotten together to launch a formal campaign. An individual did ask her about her fathers infidelity, which she blew off, unlike her mother who if she had been doing the blowing off, their would not have been a coment to blow off. Well that sounded better in my head than on screen, anyway, politics is a ruff and tumble area to dabble in, and if you don't want mud splattered on you, put down the mic, get off the stage, and go back to your cushy job.
using people children to make political points is pretty damn low and exactly what id expect off the republican propaganda campaign
Chelsea is playing in the big leagues now. She should be prepared for as such. You don't run on the field on game day without having practiced at all, do you? The bottom line is, our society is very real and she should expect real questions from real people. The integrity of her mom was not what was in question here. (which is why I feel she got so defensive) However... her father's GLOBAL sex scandal and how that would affect her mother's current campaign, was questioned. And in my opinion, a valid and reasonable question. It's not as if she was asked about any details of the affair, or how she or her mother feels about it. If she didn't know what to say, I feel it would have been more tactful to simply say ';That's a question you'd have to ask her.'; and taken the high road.
THANK YOU, P S ! But Arlene, I would like to point out, that the 'REPS' could NOT sling any more 'mud' than what the DEMS are doing,, TO THEMSELVES !!!! My GOD, THEY'RE A JOKE !!

(are we 'under sniper fire' again???) Chelsea should have been asked if she was EMBARASSED by the lies her parents throw out to the public.

Her ';inherited intellect';,? WTF is THAT ???

She's a dimwit with a ';degree'; paid for WITH GOVERNMENT $$ and if she ';can't handle the truth';, then she should haul her butt out of the race. Is she going to tell EVERYBODY, ';none of your business';? when they ask her a question she does'nt like ? She better get smarter than that, because that answer will not fly much longer.

Your wise to go with Obama, but you would be a hell of a lot SMARTER to go with McCain !!!! (This time !)

    P S is right !!!
    No

The question was ask was Hillary's creditability hurt by the mess Bill made in the sexual harassment case brought up by Paula Jones.

Remember it was Bill that smear Paula's name.

It wasn't about a BJ it was Bill obstructing justice and preventing a woman having her day in court.

It was also Hillary who got on National TV and declare it was all a vast right wing conspiracy later her house of cards cave in.

That does go to the heart of her creditability and that is a fair question.

One more thing the cowards that she is in front of are hand pick by Hillary.

So most likely that guy was a democrat.

The GOP don't have to do any mud slinging because the DNC is doing a bang up job on their own.
Yes I have...she is a horse faced bag of lying socialist excrement just like her parents....She should have been prepared for that question, and could have been more diplomatic, instead she turned nasty....just like her Mom.

She's been part of a political family her whole life...she knows how things go...she put herself out there...and her parents ';marital problem'; involved the President of the USA lying under oath....she is a not a baby!
they should shes a stupid kid using I am a child as some sort of shield against real questions.

Do you think that Hillary has benefited from her new campaign manager?

My friends tell me that Hillary has mounted one of the most vigorous fights for Indiana. Most are expecting a landslide in indiana because they say that Hillary understands their values and their tradition. Also Bill Clinton and Robert kennedy has roots in Kokomo...Do you think that Hillary has benefited from her new campaign manager?
i hope so. she has the guts and motivation and the ideas. obama is an empty big talking wise guy who has no substance to his plans. he was creamed at the debates. constantly changes his position. will try every trick in the book.

i have faith in the american people and the people of indiana and i say they will vote hillary.Do you think that Hillary has benefited from her new campaign manager?
Hillary plays dirty. She's only out to win-regardless of the cost. She will say or do anything that will get her the votes. I predict OBama will win in Indiana. Our government needs a new direction and I am hoping we get it with Obama. This country does not need more of the Clintons.
Terry is an awesome guy. If you have heard him on TV, hes so positve and so full of energy. I really like him.

I live in Indiana. Pro Hillary in Rural Areas. If she can win a majority in Indianapolis she will win.

But in Nov this will be McCain country.
Hillary should win Indiana, small town and rurual America is

alive and well there, and we know what Nobama thinks of

    us, so he is toast,
What do you mean landslide? Landslide is to Obama . He is sliding.
She does have googlie eyes sometimes.
Hillary has benefited because more is known about the Anti American racist she is running against.
    yes

Attention Hillary supporters, how are you feeling about the Obama campaign at this point?

Just taking a poll here. Hillary supporters only please.

Anyone notice a trend with Strickland, Rendel, and Edwards rejection of any VP offer?

Also, if he put Clinton on the ticket--would that matter at this point? Or has the snub gone on for too long? PLEASE RESPOND ONLY IF YOU ARE A CLINTON SUPPORTER. I know how Obama supporters feel about these issures.Attention Hillary supporters, how are you feeling about the Obama campaign at this point?
I will be voting for McCain whether Hillary is on the ticket or not. I feel bad for Hillary having to campaign for Obama when you can tell she detest the man. I also don't think Obama will appoint her his running mate and I don't think she would accept. Obama is a disaster and no one wants to be tied to him politically.Attention Hillary supporters, how are you feeling about the Obama campaign at this point?
It wouldn't matter to me. I didn't vote for him because I don't trust him and he is inexperienced. We all know whats up with her support of Obama. She has to do it. I bet the DNC can't wait to get rid of Obama. I have a feeling they are giving him a mercy nomination.

All the Clinton supporters I know are now McCain supporters. BTW, the vp wanna bes ALWAYS say they don't want the job... unless of course, they are asked. Then, miraculously, they want the job.

I love generalization, it can be used for anyone.
I am sorry silverbr but it is impossible to get Obama paid spammers off a question. ubgirly2 and fdm215 are Obama supporters and if you look at their questions and answers you will see what I am talking about.

I did support Hillary and now I am voting McCain. I will not vote for Obama in any capacity.
I switched from Hillary early on and her tactics disappointed me, now those same tactics are McCain tactics A lot of Mrs.Clinton supporters were voting against Obama so we never expected there support anyway.
You are right! Nobody wants to be his VP! They they feel they are over qualified for the job. I would have to agree with them.

    NOBAMA!!!!
    They all rejected Hillary too
I`m sticking to my guns.No Obama! Hillary McCain 08
I was a Clinton supporter but now i just feel sick to my stomach.I'm voting for McCain.
it Never would have mattered, then or now

Clinton was Not running for V.P.
I am voting for McCain, PUMA
I think Obama should be ashamed of himself for one thing. He said from the very beginning that this race would not be about race. BS! He and his campaign have talked about growing up a black man and making history as the first black man to get a Presidential nomination. They tried to destroy the Clintons by using race and now they are gearing up to fight racism when the Republicans start campaigning in earnest. They are looking for anything they can call racism! It makes me sick and I think that he has thrown years of racial healing out the window. There are many people who feel that they have been wrongly accused of racism and are being backed up by many more of those who agree with them.

The second thing is that Obama just destroyed his own image of the champion of the new politician. When he refused public financing for the GE, it was all about the money. He was all for it when he thought the Republicans would have more money than him. When he realized that he could raise huge amounts of cash, he ';changed'; his mind. So much for ';political reform';. He is now officially an ';old school'; politician!

I voted Hillary in the primary and will vote McCain in November. No I would not vote Dem. if Hillary was Obama's VP. I would lose all respect for her. I will not vote for Obama no matter were he is on the ticket.

I could care less who Obama picks as his VP. I only hope whoever it is has a questionable background like Obama, so the Republicans can do what they do best. Win.
I feel that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton hold very similar views and ideas, Barack Obama reminds much of an inexperienced governer who once ran for president, named BILL CLINTON, who turned this nation around, and eliminataed the deficet caused by the 1st Iraqee war, then Bush the 2nd came along and ruined it!!!!!!!
I love Sen Clinton. It bothers me a little when she is referred to Hillary. Other senators are shown more respect.

Anyway I will vote for Obama because I am voting for the party. I am disappointed that he flip-flopped on public finance.

At first I thought Sen Obama should choose Sen Clinton as a running mate but I have reconsidered. I am just not sure they can work together enough to get things done.
All the Clinton supporters I know are now Obama supporters. BTW, the vp wanna bes ALWAYS say they don't want the job... unless of course, they are asked. Then, miraculously, they want the job.

  • Are the latest articles about Sarah Palin hurting McCain's campaign an indication that Obama is in trouble?

If Obama is so far ahead in the polls, why would the media have to pull out desperate measures like this? Thoughts? Are the latest articles about Sarah Palin hurting McCain's campaign an indication that Obama is in trouble?
It does seem like the media is reporting a lot about problems with McCain and Palin. But it seems like they never say anything bad about Obama

There is actually a lawsuit going on right now to force Obama to provide his birth certificate. The lawsuit is by a democrat by the way. Some think that Obama wasn't really born in the US. Some think he was born in Kenya which would make him ineligible to be president. But Obama for some reason will not provide his birth certificate. And now all of a sudden he is traveling back to Hawaii.

But I haven't heard anything about this in the mainstream mediaAre the latest articles about Sarah Palin hurting McCain's campaign an indication that Obama is in trouble?
No, Obama is NOT in trouble, he ha a nice healthy lead, and Palin has effectively and irrevocably sunk the SS McCain, she is the worst pick he could possible have made and he would have had this election in the bag if he had gone with anyone else; she did him in totally. NO ONE wants that broad setting foot anywhere near the White House; she has done more to help the democrats than anything else.
I think this is a way for Obama to try and hurt McCain, he could not find any dirt on the war hero, so he is going against his running mate. I thought children of candidates were off limits, that was until Palin's daughter got pregnant and they dug up her boyfriends my space-- how low! I also think the media wants us to believe their polls, but I don't know anyone who answered a poll. They are playing us for fools thinking McCain followers will be discouraged and think he has no chance and not go vote. I hope all the Obama followers will do what Obama did not vote yes or no just vote ';Present';!

Oh and Madonna is for Obama--then why does she live in England!
I don't see what one has to do with the other. If Palin hurts McCain's campaign, that would be better for Obama. Not that he's going to lose anyway...nobody wants George Bush's loyal puppydog and his freak show Palin in office. Nobody that knows what they're talking about, anyway...
Obama has nothing to do with Sarah Palin's and John McCain's problems. Obama is doing very well, a lot better than they are. Sarah Palin, is her own worse enemy everytime she opens her mouth it gets reported.
They get that information from polling, so why would they be helping Obama? It's the Republicans that are desperate, not the Democrats.
    Hopefully

Do we really want someone who runs such dirty, underhanded campaign ads as McCain running our country?

I'd rather have an honorable human being.Do we really want someone who runs such dirty, underhanded campaign ads as McCain running our country?
Absolutely not. As they say, those who live in glass house shouldn't throw stones. McCain has built his campaign on a foundation of lies and deceit, and while he has the average moronic voter fooled now, I do think it will come back to haunt him. His only appeal now is to the ';drill now, pay less, kill more, think less'; crowd and the backwoods redneck crowd.

And yes, there is proof that he is lying, in case anyone is wondering. Do a damn Google search, people.Do we really want someone who runs such dirty, underhanded campaign ads as McCain running our country?
You are out of luck then.

Please tell me who is lying Barack Obama:

    From Obama's page:

    ';鈥?Fact: Barack was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity.';

    http://fightthesmears.com/articles/20/ac鈥?/a>

    or Acorn:

When he returned from law school, we asked him to help us with a lawsuit to challenge the state of Illinois鈥?refusal to abide by the National Voting Rights Act, also known as motor voter.

Obama took the case, known as ACORN vs. Edgar (the name of the Republican governor at the time) and we won. Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992 that made it possible for Carol Moseley Braun to win the Senate that year. Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5000 of them).

Since then, we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office.

    http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obama鈥?/a>
McCain is just a continuation of George Bush. If you get a chance, look on youtube for McCain cursing. He has a foul and nasty mouth and no control over his temper. The last thing this country needs is another hothead reactionary that will not listen to reason. Look at the shape we are in now because of that. Also, I want a president that does not find the truth to be optional.
    I agree 100%

The GOP and their supporters are going back to silly politics like Rev Wright and Ayers ,Acorn at a time when Americans are losing their jobs and homes and this country is headed for a deep Recession ,it's a strategy that will finally put the nail in McCain coffin .

    http://link.brightcove.com/services/link鈥?/a>
Hmmm ... and our only alternative is a man who's most significant accomplishments to date are 144 days in the US Senate and being a ';community organizer';?

I don't see any way in which America wins if EITHER of the two parties' nominees are elected!

Send me someone who will (1) NOT raise taxes and (2) Get us out of Afganistan (Can you say ';Viet Nam';?) and Iraq (Can you say ';Viet Nam';?) and I'll vote for that person!

    Obama!!

McCain McCan't (Stupid, I know, but you know it's true)

McCain is not physically well enough to be president, because he WILL die in office and Sara Palin WIlL become president.

The world would be more of a sh*thole than it already is, and we would be in serious trouble.

    I'll betcha.

    haha.
AMEN, amen, amen, amen, amen. Sing it over.....amen, amen...... to the tune of Amen as sung by Sidney Poitier in Lilies of the Field.
Obama is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is very dangerous.

McCain is a true American patriot.
What about employing the police to stop people from speaking out against your campaign?

I'd say that is pretty underhanded.

    Elections can get nasty

    .

And as the clock ticks down to that voting day

    .

The Mud ball fights will get real dirty

    .
His attack ads only sound bad because Obama hisself gave him the ammo. Obama is as crooked as a bucket of guts!.
That's what all ads are both McCain and Obama just ripping on the other not saying what they're going to do. Why you see McCain ad's more is that he has more support to run more ads
nope, another reason Im voting for Obama.

Mccain, you really make it so easy for us!
No, I think McCain's campaign strategy will be the death of his bid for POTUS.
i agree that the campaign has gotten ugly, but, to be fair, the negative ads are coming from both ends.
And you can really with a straight face say that person is Obama!

    Just don't drink his koolaid.
    Good luck finding them.
We have had Bush. So can't get any lower than that. But darn it, America will try it anyhow!

    He is Mcslime.
do you have proof. it is better than obama being president
Me too! Who do you suggest!!??
I want answers to today's problems
    HELL NO!!!

    vote obama/biden

Has a presidential candidate that didn't raise the most campaign money won the election?

Whats with the media focus on how much money a candidate raises?Has a presidential candidate that didn't raise the most campaign money won the election?
Good Question!!! Are elections a joke is what you're asking!!! Does the money always win.Has a presidential candidate that didn't raise the most campaign money won the election?
The money is just one of the signs of a great candidate. A candidate starts with an idea, and if he (or she) raises hundreds of millions of dollars, then that person has many supporters. The candidate with the best plans always wins, although the money does help.
    Everything pre-1950.

In what he thinks is what he as a role model and leader should day, is a shallow egotist that in a cunning way is bringing back racial tension, and to a point beyond control of violent outburst around the country. Now he has Jimmy Carter ( that great receptor of the 'Nobel peace prize' ) chiming in with the race baiters by apologizing for the south!
Welcome to the change Obama is talking about, replacing every known American symbol with his own. I guess he thinks that he will remain in power indefinitely.
As you said it is the President's web page.*
I saw the Presidents O with ';LOL in the center of it. Loved it!

How long does it take for a young idealist to turn into a soulless cynic on the campaign trail?

Imagine a young student of political sciences with high ideals and ideas he can change his country through politics. Recently graduated, he gets his first real job working in the back-stages of a real political campaign with a candidate he feels will change the way it's done in Washington.

So how long until he finds himself in a hotel room one night between his ninth and tenth scotch, staring out at the window whispering: There is no country... There is no God...How long does it take for a young idealist to turn into a soulless cynic on the campaign trail?
Not very long. Being around members of Congress and other political candidates is an eye opening experience. You realize they're not much brighter than the rest of us.

I've always questioned the sanity of anyone willing to put themselves thru such campaigns. How long does it take for a young idealist to turn into a soulless cynic on the campaign trail?
    wait five minutes
Does a cynic have to be soulless? If so, why?

Do all young students of political science have to be idealists? Can't they be realists?

Is this person so weak-minded that he can't deal with the real world?

Maybe he can put the whole sour experience out of his mind, go back to school as a professor of political sciences and mold the next crop on unrealistic idealists.

What battles make WW1 a war of attrition? is Gallipoli campaign one of those?

I know about Battle of Somme and Verdun.

    What about Gallipoli campaign?

did it contribute to WW1 to become a war of attrition?

What ws the battle like in Gallipoli?

(I don't want you to post just website, I want your summary.)

Any help would be great! What battles make WW1 a war of attrition? is Gallipoli campaign one of those?
Gallipoli was a bold plan, badly organized and executed, that was designed to knock Turkey out of the war quickly, so can't be described as a battle of attrition, either in design or course, as the Allies simply evacuated their troops when it became clear the plan no longer had any chance of succeeding in its aim.

Yes, the campaign bogged down into trench warfare, but the casualties were small compared to battles such as Verdun and the Somme, despite the fighting in Gallipoli lasting 9 months. Combined casulties for Gallipoli were about 500,000. Verdun - 700,000 (10 months) Somme 1,262,000 (in only 4 and a half months)What battles make WW1 a war of attrition? is Gallipoli campaign one of those?
Not to demean the sacrifice of the brave troops, but Gallipoli was a sideshow compared to the Somme. Notably, the Gallipoli campaign was Churchills's pet project. He was sent to the showers after that, as you might expect.

  • How big a role will Rahm Emanuel play in the 2008 Election and will the nominee again campaign as GOP-lite?

According to Democratic candidates who ran for House of Representative seats in 2006, Rahm Emanuel, then head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, took sides during the Democratic primary elections, favoring conservative candidates, including former Republicans, and sidelining candidates who were running in favor of withdrawal from Iraq.

Appointed as head of the DCCC by then-House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Emanuel spearheaded the Democratic Party effort to regain control of the House of Representatives during the 2006 election cycle. Emanuel claimed credit for the Democratic takeover and was promoted to chairman of the Democratic Caucus, the fourth-highest ranking position in the House. But his election tactics have been criticized by progressive activists and former Congressional candidates.

According to his critics, Emanuel played kingmaker by financially supporting his favored candidates during primary contests with other Democrats. How big a role will Rahm Emanuel play in the 2008 Election and will the nominee again campaign as GOP-lite?
I havent heard of him either but I have little doubts that the majority of political decision making is behind the scenes. Its clear that lobbyists and corporate interests define the agenda for this country. Both sides agree on this one!How big a role will Rahm Emanuel play in the 2008 Election and will the nominee again campaign as GOP-lite?
    LOL, never heard of him!

What happens if Hillary Clinton can't pay back her campaign debt?

I especially don't understand how she's allowed to ';loan'; her campaign money but she needs to pay it back. If she for some reason can't pay it back, what happens? Campaign finance reform confuses the bejesus out of me!What happens if Hillary Clinton can't pay back her campaign debt?
I'm not sure, but I don't think she HAS to pay back the loan she made to her campaign. Mit Romney loaned his campaign much more, I think, and there's no talk of him having fundraisers to recoup that. Meanwhile, they say bloomberg is rich enough to completely finance his own third candidate bid.

But to answer the rest of your question... I can only imagine it all depends on where she got portions of the money from and how patient they are. They're probably pretty patient and she will get it paid off pretty soon.

Worse comes to worse I imagine her and bill could just pay for it out of their pocket. They aren't bankrupt, far from it.

    Again, I'm no expert.

Do candidates have to account for the way they spend campaign contributions?

Is there a website that shows how each campaign spends the money that was donated?Do candidates have to account for the way they spend campaign contributions?
We should and could do what needs to be done make these so called canidates do what is right. And we do not. They get away with the proverbial murder. And at the citizens expense. They get to Washington and are very happy and spend what they feel like spending. We should kick them out before we elect them and make them count every penny they get. But we do not.Do candidates have to account for the way they spend campaign contributions?
Yes, they have to do background checks on large contributions to make sure they do not take corrupt money, and they have to account for how they spend that money---they cannot use a dime for personal things--that's how they got Kerry---a billionaire who took campaign money to pay for a hair cut....so yes, they have to account for it in detail....
Sure they do but not so publicly as you desire! Maybe there could be a PEI (Poll Expense Index) in the Wall Street!
I don't think that they have to, but they surely should be required to do so. After all, it really is not their money.

What do you think about the Mormon church funding the campaign against equality in marriage?

They were perfectly within their rights to do so.

There were many organizations and churches supporting prop 8.

There were other organizations funding and fighting the fight against it.

At then end of the day 53% of California voters voted to pass prop 8. Very few of them were LDS.What do you think about the Mormon church funding the campaign against equality in marriage?
If they funded it, then that would have been international news.

If the Mormon church funded any political cause, then they would be in danger of a loss of tax shelter.

The church did not put a dime into the campaign, but many, many members of the church did. California already recognizes civil unions, which are the same as marriages in the eyes of the law. Changing the wording to marriage means a civil union ordained of God, which a vast majority of religions are vehemently opposed to. To accept that would take a rewriting of scripture and abandonment of faith for many.

With all of that said, has Prop 8 not have been worded in the way that it was in Massachusetts where churches were forced to close many charities and stop allowing all weddings in chapels, then I think there would have been far less opposition. Same goes for the initiatives in other states that failed. What do you think about the Mormon church funding the campaign against equality in marriage?
I have mixed emotions about the LDS church support of prop 8. I have no problem that they persuade their members to act...they can. Many churches do the same on a variety of issues. They took some heat...shows backbone.

And I have no idea why this is so important to them. I don't see the institution of the family being threatened by this. Why not invest in education rather than legislation?

The LDS church spent $93 million on humanitarian aid last year while spending $1.5 billion on economic development. Wouldn't helping others be more important?

LDS leaders ask members to pray about what they ask them to do, but at the same time local leaders say that if you don't get the answer the ';prophet'; is giving, the problem is you, not him. I have many personal examples of this as a former member. Really, they love their central authority model in spite of the track record of their leaders.

Many people are hitting are leaving the LDS church over this. Might I suggest that the overwhelming evidence against Smith's claims are a much better reason than abuse of central authority on a non issue? Then again, any reason can be a good reason. Don't forget that the LDS church excommunicated 6 intellectuals for telling the truth in the early 90's. Now that's a good reason to get out.

It was the state of California that voted. Not the Mormon church. The majority won like everything else that is voted in. It is not wrong to support what we believe in. Why should it be overturned for the few who want to change society and force their beliefs on the majority? It is not about feelings toward the gays and lesbians it is about defining marriage.
What percentage of the black population donated millions of dollars in support of Prop. 8? There's a difference between voting yes and being asked to give all you can of your ';time and means'; to help convince people how to vote.

What the LDS and other Christians did is despicable.

Added: Huge eye roll to the idiots who compare gay marriage to marrying someone/something other than a consenting adult.
I can't believe so many people think that this is about money? This is about protecting God's word. You can not put a price on that.

Believe me people, that money will do a fine job being pumped through our needy economy. Also, what's with all this talk about spending that money in a better way. Do you people not know that the Mormon church has one of the best welfare systems in this country. And that every time disasters strike the Mormons are one of the first groups there to help.
i say they have just as much right to fund the campaign for what they believe as a person might fund a presidential campaign or any other cause... is there something about them being mormon that bothers you.. how come people aren't attacking catholics for the same reason they believe the same thing as far as marriage goes...
To me marriage is between a man and a women they need to define it as that come up with something different I am fine with gays who want to marry if you allow someone who is married to someone of the same sex to marry why stop there why don't you let crazy people who want to marry there dog and so forth
    get the facts:

    1. Mormons make up less than 2% of the population of California. There

are approximately 800,000 LDS out of a total population of approximately 34 million.

    2. Mormon voters were less than 5% of the yes vote. If one estimates

that 250,000 LDS are registered voters (the rest being children), then LDS voters made up 4.6% of the Yes vote and 2.4% of the total Proposition 8 vote.

3.The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) donated

no money to the Yes on 8 campaign. Individual members of the Church were encouraged to support the Yes on 8 efforts and, exercising their constitutional right to free speech, donated whatever they felt like donating.

    4. The No on 8 campaign raised more money than the Yes on 8 campaign. Unofficial estimates put No on 8 at $38 million and Yes on 8at $32 million, making it the most expensive non-presidential election in the country.

    5. Advertising messages for the Yes on 8 campaign are based on case

law and real-life situations. The No on 8 supporters have insisted that the Yes on 8 messaging is based on lies. Every Yes on 8 claim is supported.

    6. The majority of our friends and neighbors voted Yes on 8. Los

Angeles County voted in favor of Yes on 8. Ventura County voted in favor of Yes on 8.

    7. African Americans overwhelmingly supported Yes on 8. Exit polls show that 70% of Black voters chose Yes on 8. This was interesting because the majority of these voters voted for President-elect Obama. No on 8 supporters had assumed that Obama voters would vote No on 8.

    8. The majority of Latino voters voted Yes on 8. Exit polls show that the majority of Latinos supported Yes on 8 and cited religious beliefs(assumed to be primarily Catholic).

    9. The Yes on 8 coalition was a broad spectrum of religious organizations. Catholics, Evangelicals, Protestants, Orthodox Jews, Muslims - all supported Yes on 8. It is estimated that there are 10

million Catholics and 10 million Protestants in California. Mormons were a tiny fraction of the population represented by Yes on 8 coalition members.

    10. Not all Mormons voted in favor of Proposition 8. Our faithaccords that each person be allowed to choose for him or her self. Church leaders have asked members to treat other members with ';civility, respect and love,'; despite their differing views.

    11. The Church did not violate the principal of separation of church and state. This principle is derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, ';Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...'; The phrase ';separation of church and state';, which does not appear in the Constitution itself, is generally traced to an 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson, although it has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court in recent years. The LDS Church is under no obligation to refrain from participating in the political process, to the extent permitted by law. U.S. election law is very clear that churches may not endorse candidates, but may support issues. The Church has always been very careful on this matter and occasionally (not often) chooses to support causes that it feels to be of a moral nature.

    12. Supporters of Proposition 8 did exactly what the Constitution provides for all citizens: they exercised their First Amendment rights to speak out on an issue that concerned them, make contributions to a cause that they support, and then vote in the regular electoral process. For the most part, this seems to have been done in an open, fair, and civil way. Opponents of 8 have accused supporters of being bigots, liars, and worse. The fact is, we simply did what Americans do - we spoke up, we campaigned,

    and we voted.

With that being said, I hope we can continue to work toward a solution that provides equal rights for all of our neighbors--gay, straight, white, black, foreigner or redneck-- while protecting our religious freedoms and the definition of traditional marriage. And, most of all, may we love one another, regardless of our faith and/or beliefs.

The opposing side of 8 earned more money. Obviously that wasn't and issue as to why it passed.

It's not about equality in marriage. It's about reinventing %26amp; redefining marriage.

I'm not for or against gay marriage. It won't affect me either way but let's be honest about what the debate is really about.
As the question above you points out, 70% of the black population voted yes. Why is everyone coming down on the LDS church?
I'm grateful they did, they are working to protect the sanctity of marriage.
I've heard that the Mormon church didn't fund any of the campaign to keep marriage from being redefined. What's your source?
Typical of bigots, you would think the LDS understood what it is like to be a hated minority.
I think they should be worrying about bettering society properly, i.e. in other ways.

    Harriet
Fair enough. At least the Mormon church understands that true marriage is between a man and a woman and a woman and a woman and a woman and a woman....
