Why is everyone using the race card with this Obama campaign?

The man has awful policies(if you can find some real fleshy policies among his phony facade somewhere.) It's not about race people! Why is everyone using the race card with this Obama campaign?
Actually, the people who most often bring up race on YA are Obama supporters who immediately flock to any question about Obama, and start accusing all who oppose him as ';racist';. Faced with documentation of his atrocious voting records, his under-the-table dealings with other governments (Canada) and militant and terrorist factions (FARC and the New Black Panthers), and his arrogant, pompous bravado in saying he WOULD attack northern Pakistan that angered the Pakistan government (then lied about what he said at a AFL-CIO primary), his supporters have no other defense rather than to cry ';racist';.

Obama, himself, has made race a big issue by the books he has written, by the people he looks to for advice and guidance (Wright and Farrakhan), the disdain he exhibits to middle class, rural, ';white'; America. Oh, and that is another phrase Obama has used: ';white America';. I say that his most recent ';poorly worded'; (his words again) statement was directed to caucasians because, in his big long speech about Rev. Wright, he made a big deal about how important church and religion were to the black population. He couldn't now be chiding that same black population for ';clinging'; to their religion, could he? Or is religion only important to urban blacks; not to RURAL blacks, who apparently only ';cling'; to religion because they are bitter? Obama actually started out with the race card by identifying himself as the son of a poor freedom worker goat herder in Kenya, just to forge an inroad with the black voters of America, since he is, after all, bi-racial, not ';black';. He certainly never told them that part of his family history included owning slaves, did he? http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nationw鈥?/a>

When it comes right down to it, it is not a story of race, at all. It is a story of Obama USING race to create division, not unity. Why is everyone using the race card with this Obama campaign?
Because I know of several people who won't vote for Obama because of his race. As much as you typical people want to down play it, it is true and don't get upset because his supporters realize it. He actually has a lot of good policies, and if you people were really looking at them you wouldn't have the audacity to try to use that against him. You rather not find out what he stands for so that you can proudly speak against him. I'd actually have more respect for the person that says they won't vote for him because of his race rather than the one that uses Wright, policies and inexperience for their excuses. Its actually quite sad, and I often wonder if those christian people really think heaven will be split.
Because it is another pivot from addressing %26amp; or solving the issue. An attempt to dumb down the non-racist which is in fact Obama %26amp; Rev. Wright, the real racist are the people who were not effected by slavery. That is what is true, therefore passing down the systemic notion that the minority %26amp; not the majority is racial which is a lye. Black people never have never will put up ';BLACK ONLY'; signs remember that. Obama %26amp; his people are not that kind of bunch, they are classy, accepting, humanitary...

Kinda like what the Republicans are doing with the ';War on Terror'; or Muslim or Middle Eastern people. However, what is different is that Republicans/George W./McCain will kill their own people for a buck.

'Obama 08'
The media has fed the public with only what sells news and nothing sells better than this primary

Rating are going through the roof and the rumour mills are in full force

The spin doctors are having a field day

Race has been brought into picture because for the second time in American politics there is a true contender of different colour running for the office

Some people are coming out of the woodwork to protest this very fact as you can see by answers here. Prejudices are being shown and coming to fore front.....from all sides

America is extremely prejudice and this campaign is truly showing its true colour....like it or not

So.....used as politics ploy game and tired of it from all sides

time to get on with choosing the right candidate for November
I think it has to do with the fact that Obama continually associates with racist people. Also the fact that in recent days Obama insulted everyone for believes in religion or owns a gun. He is his worst enemy.

As long as he makes race an issue with his dislike of white people and poor people, the press will bring it up.
Because he showed how much of a racist he is when he stands behind his racist 'pastor' and STILL attends that church today. He lied saying he didn't know about the comments his 'pastor' made, but then changed his story. Yeah, he preaches about 'change', but that pertains to his changing stories - NOT 'change' as in the country!

His recent derogatory comment about rural whites being anti-immigrant, etc. shows that he continues to play the race card in this election.
the race card is all he has and is banking on that to get him elected, but it's not going to work as although he's a clever and smooth talker it seems the more he opens his mouth the more trouble he gets into//// and lately hiding behind closed doors so he can say what he really is thinking is bringing him down... lets face it he is nothing more than a phony politician with little experience and knowledge and an individual this country doesn't need as it's president, just look at the situation the last likable idiot we voted in has us in today, This country needs an experienced leader and soon and it's not that clown////
The fact that there are bigots our there who won't vote for obama because of his race is more than offset by the number of people who vote for him just because he's black. He's pulling 8-9 ouf of 10 AA votes in some of these contests? C'mon now. That's to say nothing of the guilt-laden white people as well.
Obama made this about race. None of this crap started until people found out about his ';spiritual leader';
They're following his lead, since he keeps bringing it up everywhere he goes.
that's what he has been saying all along.
I actually find his policies to be quite good - both home and international. I think there are a lot people who are afraid of a half white/half black man winning the nomination. In that case, I quantitatively think many people will vote color vs. policy.
