What do the presidential candidates do with the money left over from the campaign?

i mean the funds that have been raised by them before and during the campaignWhat do the presidential candidates do with the money left over from the campaign?
No. They can donate any contributions they haven't spent to charities or political parties, and they can pay leftover campaign bills. The big rule is: no personal use.

The majority of time there is no money that is 'left over' from the campaign. If there is money left the candidate can donate to a charity or to their political party, or make contributions to other candidates. Candidates are not allowed to keep any money that is left over for personal expenses.

They can do a few things.

Most keep the money to finance their re-election campaign. It can also be given to their national committee (DNC or RNC), or to another politician to help with their own campaign.
It stays in the campaign. I think some can be used for Obama's inauguration.
