Yes you are - you are missing video of Jones saying the things that Beck claims he said, as voice-overs while showing Jones' picture.
The entire campaign against Jones is based on a Beck-created video in which beck himself does the editing of Jones' words.
You are also missing the statements from the other people who signed the petition that it appeared to be in support of the 9-11 families.
All of which are things that would and should be checked by legitimate news media exercising 'due diligence' before giving a story to the public.
The viscious smear campaign is that people that aren't journalist (because the Democrat/Socialist/Communist supposed journalists propaganda machine wouldn't report the facts about a Democrat) posted facts about Van Jones. That's fighting against the Democrat Party run media, admittedly composed of 94% registered Democrats. When facts come out Republicans win. When people are forced to think past a sound bite they aren't Democrats anymore and that is why the Democrat Party can't compete in talk radio and has to have the Democrat Party run media compose all of the news for them.
Jones never denied his past affiliation with the radical left. In the '90s, he was involved with the group Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM), which sympathized with Maoist-inspired peasant movements throughout the world and was organized to protest police brutality.
Jones, however, left radical politics and made the decision to work within the system, rather than try to overthrow it. For Beck, however, Jones' past statements were evidence that Obama is secretly marshaling a cadre of lieutenants pushing an agenda that is ';radical, revolutionary and in some cases Marxist.'; (Meanwhile, in reality, Obama is backing away from even including a public health insurance option as part of health care reform. How that squares with Obama's Marxist agenda Beck has yet to explain.)
Before Beck mentioned Jones in the last few weeks on his Fox News television show, Jones remained an obscure figure in the administration. After Beck mentioned him, protesters at town hall meetings made Jones a staple of their complaints.
He was probably framed, but then in Washington that is norm, and he should be smarter. I guess he believes there was a cover up or internal influence from the US government concerning the 9/11 and signed his name to it, In every administration there are problems and obama is no different. I always wonder if the smeared individual had any proof of their innocence, why would they resign?
